French exam prep · Brand + website

Brand and website for a French exam-prep school.

TCF Canada prepares applicants for the Test de connaissance du français behind Canadian immigration pathways. We built the identity it teaches under and the website it sells through — logotype and build film, a passport-themed social system, print collateral and a module-led practice platform.

The brief

TCF Canada is the brand applicants meet when they prepare for the French exam behind their Canadian immigration pathway. It had to feel approachable to nervous first-time speakers, read as credible next to the institutions behind the test — and sell a practice platform on the same screen.

Three buyer facts that drove the build

01

Two readers, one register.

Applicants need the brand to feel approachable; the testing bodies and immigration process behind the exam make seriousness non-negotiable. A rounded lowercase logotype lowers nerves; a French-and-Canadian colour chord holds the institutional register.

02

Applicants try before they pay.

Most prep platforms lead with email-capture funnels. Here the four exam modules sit on the homepage as the product itself, so an applicant practises first and subscribes when ready.

03

The applicant lives with the brand for months.

Exam preparation runs for months, not minutes. The signature composition — votre passeport pour le monde — repeats across social, print and the site, so the brand travels with the study routine.

What we built · Brand identity

A logotype between two countries

Logo process — final mark

Research, concepts, refinement, final mark. The lowercase wordmark carries a French-flag wave and a maple-leaf accent — the language of the exam and the country of arrival in one mark.

What we built · Colour and type

A colour chord between two flags

Measured between the warm tones of an academy and the cold blue of a government form — official enough to trust, without reading as a state agency.

The wordmark holds the personality — rounded lowercase that reads as approachable, a French-flag wave that places the brand without shouting — so the working type stays out of the way and the prep content reads at speed.

What we built · Website

A website that leads with the modules

Reassure, practise, convert, then proof — the four exam modules sit on the homepage as the product, and the identity lifts the register without touching the conversion architecture.
