1. Who we are

Digilayers Inc. is a Canadian company that designs and builds websites ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information we collect, and our Privacy Officer oversees how we handle it. You can reach our Privacy Officer through our contact form: start your message with "Privacy".

2. What we collect

What you send us.

The Missing Layer form: your name, email, your website (or business name and city) and one line on what you sell.
The question form: your name, email and your question.
The quote form: your name, email, your website or business name, and what you need.
Emails you send us, and our replies.

Public information about your business. To make your free Missing Layer video, we look only at what is already public: your website, your listings and public profiles, and what public AI tools say about businesses like yours. We never ask for logins or passwords.

Basic technical data. Like most websites, our servers record your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and when. We also use Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages help; it does not run for visitors in Quebec until they agree. Our Cookie policy covers cookies and similar tools.

Please don't send us sensitive information, such as health or financial details.

3. Why we use it

To answer your question, make your video or prepare your quote.
To deliver and support work you hire us for.
To keep the site and its forms safe from spam and abuse.
To understand, in general, how the site is used, so we can improve it.
To meet our legal and accounting duties.

We use your information only for the reason you gave it to us, or a closely related reason you would expect. For anything else, we ask first.

When you send a form, you agree that we may use your details for that request. You can withdraw your consent at any time by asking us. We then stop using your information, except where the law requires us to keep it.

5. Emails from us

We email you about your request: your video, your quote or our answer.
After your video, we may send up to two short follow-up notes about it. Then we stop, unless you reply.
We never add you to a newsletter or a marketing list unless you ask to join one.
Every email says it is from Digilayers and tells you how to stop further emails. If you ask us to stop, we do, within 10 business days.

6. Service providers

We use trusted service providers to host this website, measure visits (Google Analytics), store form entries, send email and help produce your video, including AI services that process the text you send us and images of public web pages. Your video's voiceover is AI-generated, with captions.

Our providers may use your information only to provide their service to us. Some store or process data outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it is subject to local laws.

We do not sell personal information.

7. Your Missing Layer video

Your video is made for your business only and shared with you through a private link. We never use your video or what it found in our marketing without your written permission.

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reason you gave it to us, or as long as the law requires (for example, for tax records). Then we delete it or make it anonymous.

9. How we protect it

We use safeguards that suit the information: access limited to the people who need it, secure connections (HTTPS) and protected accounts. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as the law requires.

10. Your rights

You can ask us to:

tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
delete your information, where the law allows;
stop using it (withdraw consent).

Ask through our contact form. We answer within 30 days and may first need to confirm who you are. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (opens in a new tab).

11. Quebec residents

If you live in Quebec, Quebec's privacy law gives you these rights too. Our Privacy Officer is the person in charge of protecting personal information, reachable the same way. Before your information is processed outside Quebec, we check that it will be properly protected. We don't use tools that identify, locate or profile you on this website.

12. Children

This website is for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

13. Other websites

We link to other websites, including client sites and preview copies of our work. Their privacy practices are their own.

14. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant, we say so on this page.
